ALTERNATIVE LEARNING PROVISION
WE EXCEPT REFEREED STUDENT WITH
AN EDUCATION, HEALTH AND CARE PLAN (EHCP)
Students aged 11-14 years in key stage 3 and students aged 14-16 years-old in key stage 4 and students aged 16-25 years-old have the opportunity to become a Level l plasterer, bricklayer, dry-liner and painter and decorator. Students will gain a Level 1 Certificate in Plastering from BPA and an apprenticeship invitation to train for an NVQ Level 2. Students have support emotionally and practically with a daily mentoring session. Successful Students are given an invitation from BPA to become an Apprentice Plasterer after attending and gaining their Level 1.

Statistics say 63% of prisoner were expelled from mainstream education as a teenager, that is the majority. BPA believes becoming a trades-person provides an opportunity, which in turn acts as a tool to help people stay on the right development path. BPA are dedicated to helping teenagers and adults Beat The Odds, by providing the opportunity to become productive citizens as a qualified trades-person working within the construction industry. BPA provides a Individual Learning Plan (ILP) for all students.
